Japanese Tie-dyeing, or Shibori, is an ancient Japanese way to dye textiles, creating fabulous patterns on cloth, quilts, pillow covers, sheets – let your imagination go crazy! Utilize folding, binding, twisting, bunching, and stitching cloth, and then dyeing it.

Gnome Furniture

Make furniture fit for a gnome! (Or a fairy/elf). Using pieces found in Nature, hot glue and your creativity, we will create tiny furniture. Please note that hot glue is not suitable for small children without parental supervision. Ahead of class, please look for tiny pieces of found nature materials to use for furniture: tiny rocks, pieces of bark, twigs, dried flowers or pods, dried leaves, shells, etc. All items should be legally and respectfully gathered; students should use caution that they do not harvest poisonous or endangered plants/species.

Create a stunning 18x24" watercolor collage featuring florals, lemons, lobster, and seasonal greenery. Hand-paint each element, explore composition, and leave with a framable work of art. All levels welcome.

Using wool roving, a felting needle, a pipe cleaner and your own creativity, you will learn to create your very own unique gnome that can hide in houseplants, accompany you on picnics or hang out in a holiday tree.

Carving a Pine Whale - Session 1

This class will be a beginning class in carving a whale from a white pine board. The finished piece will be meant to hang on a wall. We will use carving knives and sandpaper to shape a simple wooden cutout.

Perspective drawing is an artistic technique that creates the illusion of depth and space on flat paper by making objects appear smaller as they recede in the distance. We'll learn how to draw a city scene and houses. We might even do a forest full of trees!
