Carving a Pine Whale - Session 1

This class will be a beginning class in carving a whale from a white pine board. The finished piece will be meant to hang on a wall. We will use carving knives and sandpaper to shape a simple wooden cutout.

• When: Friday, July 31 and Saturday, August 1

• Instructors: Steve Valleau

• Ages: Teen, Adult

• Bring: All materials provided. If wood dust bothers, bring a mask.

• Location: SAFA Schoolhouse Tent (outside), 23 Harbor Rd, Winter Harbor, ME 04693

Flexible Tuition:

• Pay It Forward Price: $150 – I am able to pay the tuition with an additional donation to support SAFA’s programs.

• Full Price: $125 – I can make the price work financially.

• Discount Price: $95 – (limited availability): Paying full price would be a stretch for me financially.

• For All Price: $65 – (limited availability): Paying the full tuition would be a significant financial hardship.

Our goal is to make these workshops accessible to all, while maintaining sustainability of both the Arts for All Initiative and Schoodic Arts for All as a non-profit organization, as well as supporting our teaching artists by paying them fairly.
