How to Practice a One Hour Study

Practicing 1 hour color sketches has enormous benefits. We will explore strategies to approach the blank paper, determine composition, and choose selective focus points. This class will most benefit folks who already have a practice painting.

  • When: Tuesday, August 4

  • Instructor: Wendilee Heath O'Brien

  • Ages: Teen, Adult

  • Bring: Supplies for medium of choice, sketchbook and pencils, outside painting kit. Bring your supplies for the medium in which you want to work!

Flexible Tuition:

  • Pay It Forward Price: $85 – I am able to pay the tuition with an additional donation to support SAFA’s programs.

  • Full Price: $60 – I can make the price work financially.

  • Discount Price: $45 – (limited availability): Paying full price would be a stretch for me financially.

  • For All Price: $30 – (limited availability): Paying the full tuition would be a significant financial hardship.

Our goal is to make these workshops accessible to all, while maintaining sustainability of both the Arts for All Initiative and Schoodic Arts for All as a non-profit organization, as well as supporting our teaching artists by paying them fairly.

We will start by talking about strategies to approach the blank paper, determining composition, laying in the paint and choosing selective focus points. This class will most benefit folks who already have a practice painting. Oil, Watercolor, Chalk and pencil are mediums with which I am most familiar.
