The Exhibit
Based in Steuben, Maine, Tom Hitchins is a artist whose work is shaped by an established career in architecture across New Jersey and Maine. He applies a structural eye for geometry, line, and spatial design to his artistic practice, creating works that serve as a source of both joy and reflection.
With a focus on sustainability, Tom transforms found objects and discarded materials into new works that capture the spirit of Maine’s coastline, specifically focusing on Downeast boats, schooners, and airships. His style is characterized by a balance of technical precision and a distinctive touch of humor, charm and sharp wit.
Medium: Furniture and art using driftwood, buoys and other found objects.
