Pine Needle Basketry

Pine Needle Basketry

Using long leaf pine needles and cordage, participants will create a small coiled basket using a split stitch and thick needle. 

  • When: Tuesday, July 21

  • Instructor: Michelle McCann

  • Ages: Adult

  • Bring: All materials provided.

  • Location: Combs Studio, 56 Main Street, Prospect Harbor, ME 04669

Flexible Tuition:

  • Pay It Forward Price: $92 – I am able to pay the tuition with an additional donation to support SAFA’s programs.

  • Full Price: $67 – I can make the price work financially.

  • Discount Price: $52 – (limited availability): Paying full price would be a stretch for me financially.

  • For All Price: $37 – (limited availability): Paying the full tuition would be a significant financial hardship.

Our goal is to make these workshops accessible to all, while maintaining sustainability of both the Arts for All Initiative and Schoodic Arts for All as a non-profit organization, as well as supporting our teaching artists by paying them fairly.

Woven Indian Corn

No squirrels will get this! Woven with space dyed and smoked reed, this sweet fall addition will brighten your space.

  • When: Wednesday, August 5

  • Instructor: Martha Chessie

  • Ages: Teen, Adult

  • Bring: Mop size bucket, sturdy scissors, pencil, tape measure, jack knife, 12 spring type clothespins, old towel.

  • Location: Prospect Harbor Methodist Church, 57 Main Street, Prospect Harbor, ME 04669

Make transporting your yummies to the table with this solid based basket tray and round basket with removable bowl.
