Inspired by our surroundings, we'll learn to draw and carve images on easy-to-cut blocks. By sharing these, we'll create montages on tee shirts or fabrics to sew.

This workshop offers an introduction to the cyanotype printing process through photographic print methods. Participants will experiment with a combination of natural, foraged materials and manufactured objects to create a series of unique prints. Join us to learn the basics of capturing shadows through sun printing on both fabric and paper!

Introduction to Printmaking 10/7/23
In this Introduction to block printing class, you will learn how to use this craft to create your own unique block print.
Block printing is a beautiful art form because of its graphic quality and handmade feel.
Please bring at least one simple 4” x 6” sketch or design inspiration. Simple is best! I will also have some template designs for you to choose from.
This class is ideal for beginners.
What you will learn: understand how to create a single-color block print; develop a clear understanding of the steps needed to plan, design and carve a successful print; hand burnish a print using softcut carving block and non-toxic water-based inks.

Monoprint Gel Plate Printmaking
This rapid and fun printmaking technique allows freedom to explore and exploit the highly sensitive nature of the gel plates' capabilities. Shape, texture, stenciling and layering will be some of the processes introduced during this hands on workshop.

Screen Printing
Speak Your Mind Through T-shirts and Posters. This workshop will examine the relationship between words and images as we design and screenprint single- or multiple-color posters and T-shirts. We’ll work from the prompt, “What positive message do you want to send to your community?” Starting from drawings or digital files, we’ll use direct methods to expose images on our screens, and students will learn how to screenprint with or without dedicated equipment.
