Cheryl Clegg

Teaching Artist

Cheryl Clegg, a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, has spent more than three decades shaping a photographic practice that moves fluidly between commercial assignments and deeply personal visual explorations. Her long-term projects include Faces of the Rasin Foundation, Haiti; Amelia’s Spirit, a fictional landscape world built through collage; a portrait series reflecting on the legacy of Title IX; and My Postcards from Maine, painterly meditations on memory and place and The Endangered Lobstermen series, portraits of lobster fishing families.

Her images have appeared everywhere from magazines and catalogs to juried and solo exhibitions and have been shown through ASmith Gallery, the Vermont Center for Photography, the Davis Orton Gallery, Texas Photo Society, SE Center for Photography, and Praxis Photo Arts Center, among others. Clegg divides her time between Newton, Massachusetts, and Corea, Maine
