Beginning Clay and Beyond with Ellen Sedgwick
This will be a wheel based class focusing on basic skills for beginners or building off of
previous wheel work for those more experienced. Each class a demo on the wheel will be given highlighting
certain forms/techniques. Students will have wheel time to practice from the demo or work on their own ideas.
The last class students will focus on glazing their final pieces. Please bring a towel and personal water bottle
(there is no drinking water in the studio) and a work apron if you would like one.

Handbuilding with Clay with Ellen Sedgwick
This class will focus on handbuilding techniques and give students the opportunity to
explore different ideas through clay. We will focus on slab work including tiles, plates, and 3-dimensional forms.
This is a handbuilding class and open to beginners and beyond. The last class will focus on glazing finished

Fused Glass 101
This class is designed to build the skills of those new to glass fusing so that you understand the physical characteristics of fusible glass as well as the dynamics of how glass reacts to heat. Specifically students will learn: safety in the studio, how to measure and cut straight lines in glass, How to create simple glass projects with multiple layers of glass, how to minimize unwanted internal bubbles in glass projects, and the difference between full-fusing, tack-fusing and slumping.

Gyotaku is a traditional Japanese art form that began more than a century ago as a way to document the size of a caught fish. Sumi ink would be painted on one side of the fish, then the fish would be covered with rice paper and rubbed in order to create a very cool image.

This workshop offers an introduction to the cyanotype printing process through photographic print methods. Participants will experiment with a combination of natural, foraged materials and manufactured objects to create a series of unique prints. In this class we'll be working with wool, soap and water to create felted bowls. Using a resist method, we'll create a unique bowl using the feltmaking process. Then embellish it using various other types of mixed media. Students can bring in their own embellishments (yarns, beads, buttons, etc) to use as well.

Summer Yoga
In this 60 minute yoga class we will focus on the structural alignment of both seated and standing yoga postures with an emphasis on developing strength, stamina, flexibility and balance. It will be conducted as a learning experience so each student gains awareness and knowledge of their own body.
The class is suitable for all levels and abilities. Pure beginners are especially welcome!
