Beginner Cape Breton Step Dance with Angela Szucs
Beginner Cape Breton Step Dance
Cape Breton Step Dance is a hard shoe, percussive style of dance. The footwork is very much kept “close to the floor”. Students will be introduced to basic strathspey and reel steps and leave with a short routine.

Puppetry in Performance
The heart of puppetry is bringing an inanimate object to “life”. We will use found objects to discover how to bring the object/puppet to life through breath, movement, gaze and non-verbal storytelling. No previous experience necessary.

Circus and Excitement
Circus is attention. Circus is patience. Circus is creation and patterns and looseness and showing off and supporting partners and silliness and serious fun! Participants learn the basics in several varieties of arts including: juggling, balancing objects, spinning diabolos and plates, etc. The class reduces the arts to their essential components: props, bodies, gravity, resistance, audience, etc. We will focus on techniques, experimentation, interactive performance, and (most importantly) messing up spectacularly!
