Hand Carved Chopsticks from Upcycled Fine Furniture Wood

Learn the art of carving and hand finishing chopsticks from exquisite salvaged wood sourced from Maine's finest furniture makers. Work with a variety of beautiful hardwoods: cherry, maple, tiger maple, oak, black walnut, and mahogany. All skill levels are welcome!

Flexible Tuition:

  • Pay It Forward Price: $100 – I am able to pay the tuition with an additional donation to support SAFA’s programs.

  • Full Price: $75 – I can make the price work financially.

  • Discount Price: $60 – (limited availability): Paying full price would be a stretch for me financially.

  • For All Price: $45 – (limited availability): Paying the full tuition would be a significant financial hardship.

Our goal is to make these workshops accessible to all, while maintaining sustainability of both the Arts for All Initiative and Schoodic Arts for All as a non-profit organization, as well as supporting our teaching artists by paying them fairly. 

Join us for a unique woodworking experience! Learn the art of carving and hand finishing chopsticks from exquisite salvaged wood sourced from Maine's finest furniture makers. We'll work with a variety of beautiful hardwoods like cherry, maple, tiger maple, oak, black walnut, and mahogany. Each participant will create at least two pairs – a set for everyday dining and a longer pair for cooking. No prior woodworking experience is necessary – all skill levels are welcome! Chris will have optional tools available for purchase.
