This talk explores how the creative process can become a quiet act of reflection—a way to grow, to make meaning, and to gather the small lessons life and art offer over time.

Derek Hayes is an artist working with photography whose work has been exhibited in galleries across the United States and internationally. Originally from Ontario, Canada, he now lives and works in Maine. Derek is currently completing his first book, To Be Honest and Dreaming, with the Tokyo-based publisher Ephemere. Over the years, he has trained with several internationally recognized photographers, whose guidance has shaped his approach to craft and vision. Derek remains immersed in his own process of self-discovery and is grateful for the chance to support others in their artistic growth and exploration.
